Hi Bloodwind,
I hope you are all well. I would like to submit an application on this character, as for the first time in around 3/4 years, I am interested in playing "properly" again. I hope I am an interesting candidate, and will attempt to convince you of that over the coming few paragraphs.
About me: I'm 36, male and live in London. I work in a busy environment and for several years now I haven't felt able to commit to any guild in wow, or any other game. I have enjoyed the beginning of Legion so much that I want to again explore all the game has to offer. Sometimes my job will simply prevent me from playing. This will occasionally, rarely, be unavoidable if I have to respond to stuff that's happening in the world. Generally however I'm playing a lot these days, but there's only so much you can achieve in PUGs and random BGs
Character: Havoc Demon Hunter NE
History in WOW (PVE):
I have a lot of experience here. I started, like many others, as a clueless NE hunter in early Vanilla. However, again like many others, I began to raid and PVP after a while and then got lost down a rabbit hole of wow play through my undergrad university days. I was an officer and very occasional raid leader for the number one PVE guild on Scarshield Legion, a guild named Aftermath. Through Vanilla, TBC, WOTLK and early Cata we mostly dominated the PVE scene on that server. The guild was run by sensible smart and mature people and we did well but were always constrained somewhat by the fact SSL was a bit of a backwater server. Good players were hard to find, but we were number one all the way through my time there. I like to think I was one of the critical elements of the guild remaining a really consistent solid place to play, and I helped keep it ticking over for many years.
Prior to Firelands, I decided to pursue my goal of top level PVE so applied to join a guild called Slashcry on Kazzak. I joined and we cleared Firelands and got all top 10 world kills. Unfortunately I missed the Rag kill as I went to the Lake District with my family. It was fun. I was top warlock dps in the world on several occasions during this run and always top 5 during the progression period. It was very intense however, too intense for me. I can be as hardcore as anyone but I found the constant raiding with no care for "life" too much, every... single... day... with no let up. I was glad to have tried this, but I know it's not for me. I have too many other things going on.
After that I effectively retired from raiding. Aftermath had collapsed, which was and is a tragedy, so I had no home. I barely played through the rest of Cata and MOP. Played a bit more through WOD, but mostly solo. Unfortunately WOD made solo play too easy and rewarding but that suited me at the time. I did Mythic dungeons but that's about it.
With the arrival of Legion I really wasn't expecting much but I have loved it so far. I love Emerald Nightmare. The eyeball brings me back to memories of C'thun (in my view still the greatest raid experience I had in WOW), and the emerald dragons bring nostalgia pangs for huge server wars we used to have over Ysondre, Terear and all the other dragons back in Vanilla. One went on for an entire weekend involving thousands of players and dozens of guilds. The NE starting area music after you down Xavius was the icing on the cake for my nostalgia trip.
I have cleared 4/7 HC but am finding the PUG experience frustrating. I am looking for a guild to raid with. I don't expect to be the best dps in the world on this character but I do expect to clear all Mythics. That's my aim.
PVP:
This is the big extra reason I like the idea of your guild as a potential home/community. Throughout my time in Aftermath I was always a committed arena/pvp player but this was tough in my PVE guild and on our backwater RP server. Despite this I was always 2200+ on 2/3 characters in 2s and 3s. I missed Gladiator in S5 by 2 ranks. And before you ask, yes I was the holy pala with a killing machine DK face-rolling everything except mirrors.
When I moved to Kazzak back in Firelands I did 3v3 just one night and we rocketed immediately to a 2350 arena rating. In my view, this happened because for the first time I got to play with players who were as good or better than I was, and also as interested as I was. I might be wrong on that but that's the narrative I'm sticking with! I stopped playing after leaving Slashcry. I played again during WOD but felt like I had become a bit bad. It's hard to tell when you're mostly playing with badly geared PUG players through the partner finder though! I played a lot but never with comms, tactics, or even ideal combos. Just "kill x first" and hope for the best!

Anyhow that's a wall of text wow-life history. Your guild sounds to me like somewhere where I can play all aspects of the game to the level I want to be at. It sounds like a guild that is fun to be in, but with a serious edge, and a penchant for top level play. I like that, and want to contribute, learn, make a few friends along the way, and possibly have some of those very special wow moments in this amazing game.
Happy to discuss any of the above, and chat if you want to know anything else.
